Let it bleed Print bleed is a term used to refer to printing that is beyond the edge after trimming. Brochures are printed together in the form of sheets and are afterwards, sliced into smaller single units. Cutting hundreds or thousands of these sheets can sometimes result in errors or variations over the course of printing. Bleeding is the part of the image that is printed on a small amount of space at the edge of the printing surface. This serves as an allowance to make it easier to account for design inconsistencies and the movement of paper.
